Contractor Vetting & Management
A room that looks good on handoff day isn't the goal. We only work with installers who meet our standards, so your room works reliably and stays easy to maintain.
How it works
We shortlist vetted local installers and introduce them to you. You contract the installer directly, so their labour is billed to you with no markup from us, and the warranty and service relationship are yours.
We hold the design authority. We coordinate the installer on site, answer their questions against the design, and don't sign off until the room meets it.
The standards an installer has to meet
Before we put an installer in front of a client, we check them against these standards. They're about function, reliability and serviceability, not just appearance.
Credentials and coverage
- Commercial general liability insurance of at least $2M, with a certificate of insurance on file
- WorkSafeBC coverage, or the local workers' compensation equivalent
- Qualified, and licensed where required, for the electrical and low-voltage work they perform
- Manufacturer certifications for the platforms in the design; AVIXA CTS-I preferred
- References from recent commercial projects
Workmanship that lasts
- Cabling to manufacturer specifications, properly terminated, tested and supported
- Every cable labelled at both ends, matching the drawings
- Clean rack and furniture builds with proper ventilation and cable management
- Secure mounting for displays, cameras and microphones
Built to be serviced
- Equipment reachable without taking the room apart
- Service loops so devices can be pulled out and replaced
- Power and network connections identified and documented
- Nothing hidden behind finishes that would need to be cut open later
Documented and handed over properly
- As-built drawings that match what was actually installed
- Equipment lists with serial numbers, IP addresses and firmware versions
- Test results for every room before sign-off
- A clear warranty and service contact for the client
Safe and professional on site
- Safe work practices and the right equipment for working at height
- Respect for the client's building, schedule and people
- Clean-up at the end of every day
What we do during the install
Before and during the build
A pre-wire checklist, so the room is ready before equipment arrives.
Answers to the installer's questions against the design, so nothing is improvised on site.
Commissioning and sign-off
We commission and test every room against the design, and track a punch list until it's clear.
Then we train your users and hand over a complete documentation pack.
